Influence of channel geomorphic units on bedload transport and river morphology during low‐magnitude bed‐forming floods coupled with sediment augmentation

In this study, we map different types of channel geomorphic units in a sediment-starved, residual-flow reach before and after an artificial flood. Bedload particles previous sediment augmentation measure are tracked with passive integrated transponder tags, water depth flow velocity recorded across ten cross-sections. The analysis focuses on the influence bedload transport river morphology. Our hypotheses that during low-magnitude bed-forming floods pulse migration, (i) existing and, more specifically, (ii) their type influences retention rate particles. Furthermore, hypothesise (iii) density is linked to hydromorphological diversity section. We provide evidence supports first two contradicts third one. consider our results be transferable similarly regulated reaches based site-specific conditions alternative explanatory factors. Further research needed transfer varying flood supply unregulated reaches.
